The location for this event is Ludington Park..
To get there, just follow this map and these directions:
Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Since Escanaba is so far north, we will only do directions from the south.
Escanaba, MI.
From the South (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, etc.)
We will start in Green Bay, WI. Head north on U.S. 41.
Continue north on U.S. 41 through Peshtigo, WI to Marinette, WI/Menominee, MI.
Here is where you will cross the state line (where you cross the bridge over the river).
Shortly after crossing the bridge, U.S. 41 angles to the right (east) onto 10th Ave.
Three blocks later, U.S. 41 turns left (north) on 11th St.
Continue north on U.S. 41 for 30 blocks (until you pass 38th Ave.).
Now you have a choice, you can continue straight on U.S. 41 or you can turn right on Michigan State Highway 35 (M-35). If you take U.S. 41, you will reach Escanaba in 63 miles and you will go through many towns. If you take M-35, you will reach Escanaba in 54 miles and you will go through only one town. Beware, though, M-35 only has one gas station (which is at the town of Cedar River and was closed the last two times I went through) between Menominee and Escanaba, so if you need fuel or a rest break, do it in Menominee or Escanaba.
Continue north on which ever route you choose. If you take U.S. 41, continue north to Powers, MI. Here you will meet U.S. 2. Turn right (east) on U.S. 2/41 toward Escanaba. If you take M-35, just continue on that road. There are no other major roads until you reach Escanaba.
As you near Escanaba, you will start to see billboards instead of just trees. Then all of a sudden you will be in the town.
If coming in on M-35, continue north. The first stop light will be at 5th Ave. The second one will be at Ludington Street. M-35 ends here. U.S. 2/41 comes in from the west (left side) and turns left (north) to continue the road directly in front of you. You turn right (east) on Ludington Street.
Proceed 23 blocks (the entire length of Ludington Street) to the Waterfront.
Ludington Park and Encampment area are on the left (north) side of the street, across from the House of Ludington.
Escanaba, MI
The Marina Park is where the
is.
