From Milwaukee:
- Take East I-94 south to Chicago, IL.
- In Chicago, IL you have two choices: you can either take East I-94 through
downtown or you can take the East I-294 bypass around the city. Be aware
that I-294 is a toll road and there is a $0.75 toll on I-94 just north of
Gurnee, IL.
- On the south side of Chicago, IL, take East I-94 towards Gary, IN.
- On the south side of Garry, IN, take South I-65 towards Indianapolis, IN.
- In Chicago, IL you have two choices: you can either take South I-65
through downtown or you can take the North I-465 bypass around the north side
of the city.
- In Indianapolis, IN, take East I-70 towards Columbus, OH.
- In Chicago, IL you have two choices: you can either take East I-70 through
downtown or you can take the East I-270 bypass around the south side of the
city.
- Take East I-70 towards Wheeling, WV.
- Take East I-70 towards Washington, PA.
- Near New Stanton, PA, East I-70 merges with East I-76 (the
Pennsylvania
Turnpike). Be aware that East I-70/76 on this stretch is a toll
road. The toll from the point of entering the Pennsylvania Turnpike to
exiting it near Gettysburg, PA is approximately $6.45.
- In Breezewood, PA, East I-70 splits off of East I-76 and heads towards
Hagerstown, MD. Continue on I-76 (the
Pennsylvania
Turnpike).
- Exit on US 15 at exit 17.
- Take US 15 south toward Gettysburg.
- Exit at Hunterstown Road/Schrivers Corner Road exit (PA 394)
- Go west on Schrivers Corner Road, onto Goldenville Road.
- Turn left on Table Rock Road and come down to the Reddings Auction Barn at
1085 Table Rock Road (on the left) a short distance from Goldenville Road.
This will be the area of registration.
- There will be plenty of signs as far out as US 15 directing us where we
need to go. When we get near the registration barn, they will direct Artillery
& Cavalry where we need to go and park/register and other re-enactors will
register at the location they are directed to.



The event site will be at the Redding Farm, approximately 3 miles north of
Gettysburg.
Tentative Event Schedule
Monday, June 30, 2003
- Staff and Sutlers arrive on site. Sutler Registration opens at 12 Noon.
- NO Sutlers are allowed on site prior to noon registration.
Tuesday, July 1, 2003
- Re-enactor Registration Opens at 12 Noon.
- No Re-enactors will be permitted on site grounds prior to opening of
noon registration.
Friday, July 4, 2003
- Opening of the Campaign - The Enemy Probes the Line - Spectacular
opening battle!
- Extensive Living History Village - Two Living History Tents with
diverse and interactive presentations all day long.
- Educational and interesting Field Demonstrations and other events
throughout the day.
- Expansive Sutler area open to Re-enactors and spectators.
- The Great Battle Begins - McPherson's Ridge - Federal and Confederate
troops conclude the Preservation March by streaming into this massive
first day battle. A truly unique experience.
- Spectacular Independence Day Fireworks display at 10:00 pm.
Saturday, July 5, 2003
- Longstreet Attacks - The Second Day - Some of the most fierce and
deadly actions of the Civil War - The Peach Orchard, The Wheatfield,
Devil's Den, and Little Roundtop are post of our vocabulary 140 years
later.
- Extensive Living History Village - Two Living History Tents with
diverse and interactive presentations all day long.
- Educational and interesting Field Demonstrations and other events
throughout the day.
- Expansive Sutler area open to Re-enactors and spectators.
- Thundering Hell - East Cemetery Hill and Culp's Hill - Massive
Federal and Confederate Artillery duel and counter Battery Fire with
Infantry Tactics from Benner's Hill to Culp's Hill with spectacular
pyrotechnics.
Sunday, July 6, 2003
- Heroic Counter -Attack - Stuart vs. Gregg - Stuart's attempt to
break the Federal lines at East Cavalry Field and Custer's Heroic
Counter Attack - Hundreds of mounted cavalry will clash in this
spectacular battle followed by a Grand Cavalry Review.
- Extensive Living History Village - Two Living History Tents with
diverse and interactive presentations all day long.
- Educational and interesting Field Demonstrations and other events
throughout the day.
- Expansive Sutler area open to Re-enactors and spectators.
- The High Water Mark - Pickett's Charge - Pickett and Pettigrew
clash into Hancock at the Angle - Spectacular pyrotechnics - A very
unique opportunity to see close to the actual number of troops for the
battle (1863) on the field.
Like any driving directions/map, you should always
do a reality check and make sure the road still exists, watch out for construction,
and follow all traffic safety precautions. This is only to be used as an
aid in planning.
