Battery B, 4th U.S. Light Artillery
Handbook

This is the Battery B, 4th U.S. Light Artillery Handbook. This handbook was proposed during the fall of 1997 as a means of better organizing the Unit and to eliminate the various problems and confusions that have occurred since 1995. The handbook was reviewed by the membership at the annual business meeting held on January 30, 1999 at Wolf's Bar in Allenton, WI. The draft was unanimously passed after much discussion and compromise. This is the culmination of that effort along with over 100 man-hours of work. This is OUR handbook and its contents were derived in the finest traditions of democracy - not from an individual, but rather the majority of individuals. Please read it carefully and proudly act accordingly. Also, remember that this booklet is not just a "bunch of rules and regulations." It is put together to make the Battery more consistent and to make sure we are all on the "same sheet of music." It is a product of us all.

This handbook is intended as a service to Battery B, 4th U.S. Light Artillery members. It was placed on the Internet as a way that members could obtain a replacement copy, should they lose or damage their original. It is free, and is where the most recent updates will be placed. If another Unit or organization wishes to download our handbook to use as an model for their own original version, they may freely do so.

The editor of the Handbook would like to thank these Battery B, 4th U.S. Light Artillery members who contributed to putting together our handbook: Sgt. Steve Adams, 1st Sgt. Scott Gutzke, Cpl. Ben Killips, Cpt. Eric Peterson, Cpl. Tom Smith, and Cpl. Don Starr.
