Notes:
  1. DNR: "Did Not Return" to Battery B after event mentioned, even though person remained on the muster roll.

  2. The muster roll dates from-to are for the period that the names appeared on Battery B's rolls.  That does not mean that the person was present, because members were normally carried if sick, wounded, or missing, until their status was verified, sometimes a year after the event.

  3. Killed and wounded are from the muster rolls and returns. Therefore, only those seriously wounded and noted on these documents are included.

  4. There is some variation in spelling of names between muster roll editions, and between muster rolls, state rosters, and unit histories. The spelling used here is usually from the muster rolls.

A. The section of muster roll containing these personnel is missing from the September to October 1863 roll.

B. The muster roll shows Compton as sick on September 17, 1862.  He was probably wounded at Antietam that day.  He was carried as sick through August 1863, and then shown as disabled in September and October, and then dropped from the rolls.

C. Arm amputated.

D. Died on May 25, 1864 from wounds received at North Anna River.

E. Carried as sick until he died of disease.

F. Wounded at Antietam, carried as such on all muster rolls through October 1863, then shown disabled.  Wisconsin rosters show him as killed at Antietam.

G. Muster roll section missing for November through December 1863.   Probably all of these individuals served with Battery B through December 1863.

H. Wounded at Sulfur Springs, Virginia on August 24, 1862.  Left arm amputated.  released as disabled in October 1863.

I.  Wounded on April 30, 1863 at Pollock's Mill Crossing.   Right leg amputated on June 28, 1863.  Died on October 1, 1863 of wound and complications.

J.  Deserted on July 17, 1863.

K. Discharged for disability on March 8, 1863.
