Minutes from Battery Meeting 02/14/2004
The Battery’s annual meeting was called to order by Captain Brown at 2:08 pm.

The meeting minutes from the last annual meeting were approved as published.
Treasury Report
The treasury report was approved as attached. This report includes the 2003 balance sheet. The 2004 budget was also approved and is attached.
Old Business
Roster: The Battery roster has been reviewed. Additions and corrections have been made and an updated roster and emergency contract list was given to the membership.
2003 Schedule Review: NCOs need to keep in contact with their men to see who will be at what event.
Limber Fund: Motion made by Scott, seconded by Lyle to move $500 from the general fund into the limber fund and to have a meeting at Wade House to discuss transferring $500 more into the fund.
Association Fundraising Committee: Terry Brown, Chair; Brant Doty, Battery Representative; Lyle Laufenberg, Alternate Battery Representative.
New Business
National Events: The two national events this year are Atlanta (Sept. 17-19) and Franklin (Oct. 1-3). The Battery decided not to attend a national event this year.
2004 Schedule: Reviewed and posted on the website.
Association Meeting: The annual 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Association meeting was reported on.
Communication: There needs to be better communication between Battery leadership and the membership. NCOs, call your men!
Gun Maintenance: The following items have been identified to be worked on our maintenance day(s) scheduled for March 6th and 20th.
- Repair the deck of the trailer
- Check the lighting on the trailer
- Fill in and plain down the trail of the gun
- Check gloves for #1&2
- Restring lanyards
- Check grease on wheels
- Clean, polish, and paint as needed
The Redleg: The Redleg will become a column in the 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Association’s newsletter, the Fugelman. The Battery would like to thank Steve Adams for his work with the newsletter.
