On the return trip to South Mountain State Battlefield, Boonsboro, MD from
Arlington National Cemetery, Cpt. Terry Brown, Cpl. Scott Gutzke, Cpl. Brant
Doty, and Pvt. Lyle Laufenberg, visited
Fort Marcy, which is
located on the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Fort March was a
fortification around Washington, DC. The "Iron Brigade" was originated at this
fort in the summer of 1861 and was among the troops that performed garrison duty
